Templates

Template Library

The Templates Library is where all your available report templates live.

You’ll notice some templates are marked as Locked. These are our starter templates (like PR Coverage Light and PR Coverage Dark). Locked templates can’t be edited to ensure the report format stays stable and works perfectly every time.

Here’s what you can do in this screen:

  • Edit Template - Customize your own templates to match your preferred style or layout. (Not available for locked templates.)

  • Make a Copy - Duplicate an existing template. Perfect if you want to use a starter template as a base for your own design.

  • Delete Template - Clean up unused templates anytime. (Not available for locked templates.)

💡 Tip: Start by making a copy of one of the locked templates before customizing, it’s the fastest (and safest) way to create your own unique look.

Customize Templates

Custom templates let you create a signature reporting style for your agency or team. This is where you can tailor layouts, adjust content blocks, and make your reports feel unmistakably “you.”

Some templates will be marked as Locked - these are our starter templates and can’t be edited. To customize your own version, simply make a copy first, then open the duplicated version to begin editing.

Inside a customizable template, you can:

  • Adjust layouts

  • Change fonts, colors, and visual styling

  • Remove fields you don’t need

  • Add new elements that fit your storytelling style

Because templates power the automated slide generation process, there are a few important rules to follow to ensure everything continues to work smoothly.

Template Customization: Do’s & Don’ts

Our templates are flexible, but they rely on specific structure to generate slides correctly. Follow these guidelines to keep your customized templates stable and functional.

🚫 Don’ts: Things to Avoid

To prevent broken reports or missing content, avoid the following:

  • Don’t delete any slides -  Every slide serves a purpose in the generation process.

  • Don’t reorder slides - The sequence is mapped to how PRCoverage builds reports.

  • Don’t rename field tags - Field tags (like {{coverage_title}}) must stay exactly as they are for data to populate.

  • Don’t move field tags to different slides - Tags are tied to their slide type, moving them may break formatting or remove data.

✅ Do’s: Safe and Supported Customization

These are changes that won’t affect how your report generates:

  • Do remove field tags you don’t want - Not using Peak DA or Esimated Views? Simply delete that tag, the slide remains functional.

  • Do customize visuals freely - Colors, fonts, placement of non-tag elements, logos, and design accents are all safe to adjust.
Do reach out if you’re unsure - Send us a quick email at support@prcoverage.ai with questions or share a template you’re customizing. We’re happy to review it before you use it with clients.
Do send suggestions - If there’s a layout or template feature you’d love to have, tell us! Your feedback helps shape future updates.

💡 Tip: When in doubt, start by copying a locked template and tweaking only what you need. It’s the easiest way to build a beautiful, stable template that still looks uniquely yours.
